Avril Lavigne has recorded a new version of “Warrior” in honor of all the front-line workers serving amid coronavirus pandemic.
The singer revealed that she has re-recorded her Head Above Water track “Warrior” to honor the “heroic” things all the front-line workers are doing to curb the COVID-19 pandemic. The new track dropped on Friday.
“Ever since our world was tuned upside down a few weeks ago I’ve seen everyday people put on armor and go into battle. Simple tasks like delivering mail has become a heroic effort,” she wrote. “Overnight everyone was asked to battle. Overnight everyone became Warriors.”
“To all the hospital workers, postal service people, grocery store workers, police and firemen, every single one of you who has had their world shaken. This is for you,” she concluded. Lavigne said she will contribute all the proceeds to Project Hope, “an incredible organization that is on the front lines keeping doctors and medical staff safe all over the world.”
